Explore the dental technology Bayfront Dental uses to support comfortable, precise care.
Caries detection device
CariVu uses patented transillumination technology to identify caries (cavities) and cracks on the surface of your teeth, as well as in the hard-to-see areas between your teeth. Using safe, near infrared light, CariVu allows your doctor an almost transparent view of your teeth in order to see structural anomalies and carious lesions. CariVu uses non-ionizing light rather than dental X-rays. It provides supplemental images for the dentist to consider alongside the examination and any other imaging that is clinically needed.
Catching cavities early makes all the difference!
Most tooth decay begins in the tiny cracks and grooves of your tooth’s surface. CariVu’s illuminating technology can help your dentist:
- Detect tooth decay as early as possible
- Help inform decisions about monitoring or treating a tooth
- Treat small problems before they become serious dental issues
- Support a discussion of findings and appropriate next steps
